A group of friends dropped in after a long day of outdoorsy stuff. We were super famished and were so excited to be quickly seated. Our servers were so friendly and kind, couldn't have asked for better service!
Things I liked:
Appetizers
- blackened shrimp were delicious! A bit on the salty side, but not overcooked.
- Calamari was by far the winner at our table. Crisp, light, flavorful. We all squabbled over this and ended up doing rock-paper-scissor for the last bites.
- Crispy green beans also was a favorite. The batter was light, beans had a refreshing/bright kind of taste despite being fried.
Things I didn't like:
- I ordered a beef brisket sandwich and although the sandwich bread was toasted perfectly, the brisket was, unfortunately, a bit too "well-done". Some parts were way overcooked, other bits just right. But the seasoning was spot on!
Overall, I enjoyed my experience here. The appetizers definitely were the winners here, and although my entree came out overcooked, I wouldn't mind stopping by to try something different. -

What a historic, beautiful location with unique and delicious menu options!
This is such a rare find; it's one of the remaining gorgeous Inns built on The National Road. The Restaurant offers a vast menu with wings, salads, steak, BBQ, sandwiches, and more.
The meatloaf was a great choice - tender meat, delicious whipped potatoes, crisp green beans. It was perfect. My youngest son got the Salmon BLT and said "yum" no less than a dozen times while eating. -

Five of us went here for dinner on a Saturday. It was pretty busy, but there were still several open tables.
The server was friend, but overall the service was poor. We waited a long time just to get water, and they never came by to refill water or soda the entire time we were there. The food came out in spurts, not all together as you'd expect. So some people sat there with their food getting cold waiting for the others to get their meals.
Now, as to the food itself, it was delicious. Pecan crusted trout rocked, as did the side dish of green beans. The dinner salads have a nice mix of greens and great dressing. The french onion soup was very good. The bread that comes with the meal is very good. -

Show up hungry! Prompt, cheerful servers in the dining room and/or the saloon will explain the beer choices to you while you go over the menu. Everything is basically Texan-sized, from the appetizers on to the steaks. Filets cooked perfectly to order and all steaks with a variety of toppings to choose from. Even the sides (macs & cheese! macs & cheese!) are almost big enough to share. Watch out for that fried green beans appetizer. It's a meal and then some just on its own. Also, it's really good.
